If the amount demanded by the claimant is not precise, the liquidator can reject it. If the claimant’s claim is not precise the liquidator is empowered to make the best estimate of the amount claimed.
Regulation 25, Liquidation Regulations, 2016 states that: ‘Where the amount claimed by a claimant is not precise due to any contingency or any other reason, the liquidator shall make the best estimate of the amount of the claim based on the information available with him.
